Murder charges have been laid against two men for their alleged involvement in a homicide that happened in the South Okanagan in June 2021.
An online search of BC’s court records shows that Jalen Falk, 23, and Ekene Dillichuwu Anigbo, 24, were both charged on Friday.
The alleged incident took place in Naramata on June 9, 2021.
Two days after that incident, the RCMP identified a woman who had been found dead on June 9 in her Naramata home as Kathleen Richardson.
At the time, investigators said they believed that Richardson's death was related to the double homicide of Kamloops brothers Erick and Carlos Fryer who were found dead in a remote location near Naramata a month earlier.
“Their homicides are believed to be connected to gang and drug activities, with alleged criminal activities not limited to Naramata but other areas of BC including Northern BC and the Lower Mainland,” said Supt. Sanjaya Wijayakoon of the BC RCMP Major Crime Section in June 2021.
About a week after police identified Richardson, they confirmed that two men had been charged for the death of the Fryer brothers.
On June 18, the BC Prosecution Service approved first degree murder charges against 35-year-old Anthony Graham of Penticton and 32-year-old Wade Cudmore of Naramata.
Cudmore was arrested and taken into custody. In November 2021, Mounties in Prince George issued a missing person file for Graham, saying his friends had not seen him since May. No updated information has been provided on his location.
Falk and Anigbo remain in custody and bail hearings are scheduled for Tuesday, April 18 in Kelowna.
