Auction day for the 4th annual Mini Mural Auction, hosted by cannery Brewing and the Penticton Art Gallery (PAG), is just around the corner.
The initiative sees 10 unique murals painted and hung on the walls of Cannery Brewing during the summer months.
Once summer is over, Cannery Brewing and PAG auction off the unique art pieces.
In an effort to support local and regional artists, the program was launched during the pandemic and saw artists receive a $500 upfront honorarium plus 50% of proceeds.
The other 50% helps fund the Penticton Art Gallery’s exhibition and outreach programs.
“The murals, originally unveiled at the 2024 Ignite the Arts Festival, have been designed for both indoor and outdoor spaces, offering a rare opportunity to acquire one-of-a-kind artwork that adds character and color to any home, office, or public space,” organizers of the program say.
People can buy tickets to the auction gala, which takes place at 6 pm on Thursday, Oct. 24 at Cannery Brewing, by visiting this link.
The event will also include live music, food, a complimentary drink and a chance to meet the artists.
If you can’t make it in person, online auctioning is now live at this link and will remain open until 9 pm on Oct. 23.
