Once again, Rover.com has released its annual list of Canada’s most popular dog names and there really aren’t too many surprises.
This year, Charlie has been the most popular name for male dogs while Bella took home the crown in the female side of things.
Max, Cooper, Milo, Buddy, Tucker, Leo, Rocky, Jack and Toby rounded out the top 10 behind Charlie, while Luna, Molly, Lucy, Daisy, Lola, Maggie, Stella, Sadie and Rosie made up the list behind Bella.
Rover also gathered information on dog names influenced by various parts of pop culture this year.
The final season of Game of Thrones brought on a spike of names related to the HBO show, as did the live-action remakes of the Disney hits Aladdin and The Lion King.
People continued to name their dogs after top-charting musicians this year as well, which included names like Drake, Cara, Justin, Abel and Shawn.
Unsurprisingly, the Toronto Raptors championship run inspired names like Kawhi and Leonard, as sports in general continued to be a big inspiration for puppy names.
