Harry Potter fans were rather excited when an oddly couloured bird went viral on Monday.
The sunburst-coloured creature reminded more than a few Twitter users of the prominent phoenix owned by Albus Dumbledore of Harry Potter fame.
A curry covered seagull. At first I thought it was phoenix of Professor Dumbledore.. Poor Bird #Fawkes https://t.co/0doPIVfA1C

Vets treat 'exotic' bird, realize it's just a seagull covered in curry! 😁 https://t.co/qgQdv3YnfF
However, the story is arguably even more mysterious than the mythical creature.
According to a British veterinarian office, the bird was, in fact, a seagull smothered in curry or turmeric.
The bird was delivered to the veterinary hospital after being discovered on a highway where it was struggling to fly.
"He had somehow gotten himself covered in curry or turmeric!” wrote Tiggywinkes Wildlife Hospital in a Facebook post.
“It was all over his feathers, preventing him from flying properly. We have no idea how he got into this predicament but thankfully, apart from the vibrant colour and pungent smell, he was healthy.”
The veterinary team bathed the gull, scrubbing him clean and are now preparing to release him.
They have also named him “Vinny” after Vindaloo curry.
