The Boy Scouts of America is facing a number of sexual abuse lawsuits and its resulted in the non-profit filing for bankruptcy today. The BSA says the move was made to allow it to properly compensate victims while ensuring the organization can operate in the future.

The Daytona 500 finished on Monday after the race was suspended due to weather on Sunday. On the final lap, leader Ryan Newman was involved in a horrific crash just metres before the finish line. He was taken to hospital and is in serious, but non-life-threatening condition. Denny Hamlin won the race for the second straight year.

An incredible lightning show took over the skies above and around Sydney, Australia on Tuesday night. The storm, which brought heavy winds and rain as well, produced sheet lightning, which means it’s basically jumping bouncing around in the clouds. The result is plenty of fast-paced flashes in the sky.

As coronavirus remains a concern in Japan, there’s already a surgical mask shortage. However, things are looking even more grim now after someone stole 6,000 masks from the Japanese Red Cross hospital in Kobe. A hospital official said there are likely enough masks to properly continue day-to-day operations, but the act is deplorable.

Just 24 hours after a forgettable loss to the Anaheim Ducks, the Vancouver Canucks made a big trade deadline deal on Monday. The team traded for Tyler Toffoli from the Los Angeles Kings, reuniting the top-six winger with his old teammate and good friend Tanner Pearson. Tyler Madden, Tim Schaller, a second-round pick and a conditional fourth-round pick head back to LA.
