1. Several killed after car fleeing robbery drives down highway in wrong direction

Four people – including an infant – have been killed in a devastating wrong-way crash in Ontario. Police said the crash occurred after a vehicle fleeing a robbery headed down Hwy 401 in the wrong direction.


2. Judge fines Trump for contempt of court

The judge in Donald Trump's criminal trial has fined the former president for violating a gag order. Judge Merchan declared Trump to be in contempt of court this morning and fined him US$9,000.


3. Immigrant with cancer wins US$1.3 billion jackpot

A Laotian immigrant with cancer has been revealed as the winner of a US$1.3 billion lottery jackpot. Cheng Saephan, who is 46, ended up with US$422 million after taxes, and said he plans to hire a "good doctor."


4. Air Canada pauses rollout of seat selection fee

Air Canada has "paused" the introduction of a controversial new seat selection fee. The flag carrier's decision to put a price on choosing one's perch sparked fury online.


5. Thousands of bees found in toddler's bedroom after complaints of 'monsters'

A toddler who complained about monsters in her bedroom has been partly vindicated. The girl's mother, who dismissed what she considered to be an overactive imagination, ultimately found thousands of bees in her daughter's room.
