Some Tim Hortons customers have been left devastated after they were wrongly told they'd won big with Roll Up the Rim. The unlucky individuals thought they'd won a $55,000 boat, only to be told by Tims that the email was sent in error.


2. Prince Harry formally confirms US residency

British aristocrat Prince Harry has formally confirmed he is now a US resident. The Duke of Sussex, who has made tens of millions of dollars from his royal identity but refuses to work in the way other members of his family do, lives in a mansion in California.


3. Runners accused of letting Chinese star win Beijing race

Three runners at the Beijing half marathon have been stripped of their medals. The athletes were accused of deliberately allowing Chinese star runner He Jie to win the race on Sunday.


4. US urges calm after Israel hits Iran

The US foreign minister has urged calm and de-escalation after Israel apparently struck Iran with a missile. It comes after Iran sent hundreds of drones and missiles to Israel as the long-time foes exchanged their first-ever direct attacks.


5. Oil and gold prices up amid fears of wider war in Middle East

In related news, oil and gold prices have surged following Israel's apparent attack on Iran. Oil went past US$90 a barrel, while gold came close to a record high before settling below US$2,400 an ounce.
