Kelowna residents will soon have a new dining option downtown.
Owners of Kin & Folk in Penticton revealed on Monday that they will be expanding their business to Kelowna with an opening date expected this spring.
They're moving into the old Krafty Kitchen location at 281 Lawrence Ave.
The exciting expansion announcement comes just shy of two years after the restaurant first opened its doors in Penticton.
“With a massive amount of gratitude and love, we want to thank everyone who made this possible,” the Kin & Folk team wrote on its social media announcement post.
Mack Davis and Chef Zachary Chan co-founded Kin & Folk with a goal of creating a community-based refined restaurant experience.
The Kin & Folk website says Chan was driven by his heritage when creating the menu, which has Asian flavours at its core.
“He draws inspiration from global cuisines, contemporary techniques, fresh ingredients and local producers to create a truly unique experience,” the site explains.
And it’s not just the food menu that will excite Kelowna residents, as Kin & Folk is also known for its drink options as well.
“Our drink menu features a list of carefully crafted and exciting cocktails that are influenced by the classics with a cheeky spin,” the site notes.
“Each cocktail uses a combination of traditional, unique, local and fresh ingredients meant to intrigue and delight, sip after sip.”
