Nature’s Path Foods recalls certain cereals due to undeclared gluten

Nature’s Path Foods has recalled a trio of cereals that may contain undeclared gluten.

The voluntary recall is for a specific production run of EnviroKidz Choco Chimps, Gorilla Munch and Jungle Munch, which may all contain wheat and barley.

Anyone with a wheat allergy, celiac disease or sensitivity to gluten and wheat shouldn’t consume the cereals with the best before date listed below.

“Making healthy, nutritious, organic food is our passion,” says Arjan Stephens, executive VP of sales and marketing at Nature’s Path.

“This failure to meet the gluten-free standard our consumers expect and trust from us is a deep concern.”

Stephens says the company has reviewed and changed internal practices to ensure their gluten-free cereals aren’t impacted in the future.

The error was isolated to one facility and was due to air contamination and incorrect production scheduling.

Consumers can return affected cereals to the retailer where they were purchased and request a refund.
