More than 10,000 jars of anti-wrinkle cream recalled due to 'microbial hazard'

More than 10,000 units of a popular anti-wrinkle cream have been recalled after they were deemed to pose a “microbial hazard.”

Tests carried out on jars of Marcelle 40+ Anti-Wrinkle Cream found traces of mould had developed in the product.

Health Canada said the product does not meet “microbial standards” and warned consumers to immediately stop using it.

The company responsible for the cream, Groupe Marcelle Inc. in Quebec, said it was aware of five “incidents” associated with the product.

It did not specify what those incidents involved, but said there had been “no reports of injuries.”

The firm said it sold 10,931 jars of the cream between July and November.

Groupe Marcelle Inc. said it will provide a refund to people who bought the product.

They can be reached at 1-800-665-4531 extension 1500 or at [email protected].
