Another ER closure at Lillooet.
This time emergency care will be unavailable from 7 am today till 8 am on Saturday.
It was also closed from 7 pm on Monday till 8 am on Tuesday this week.
The hospital has been the worst-hit by ER closures in the BC Interior this year, about which NowMedia has written extensively.
Interior Health, in a bulletin released last night, said anyone in the area in need of emergency care during the closure today and tomorrow should head to Kamloops.
All other services at the hospital will continue to be available during the closure.
Interior Health’s bulletin added: “People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.
“Anyone unsure whether an emergency room visit is warranted can call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1, or visit www.HealthLinkBC.ca for non-emergency health information from nurses, dietitians and pharmacists 24 hours a day, seven days per week.”
