It had been seven days without a trace of new snow and it was starting to feel like the ski season was winding to a close.
But Mother Nature reminded us that Big White is open into April by delivering a whopping 14 centimetres of snow overnight.
That triggered a powder alert from the resort this morning.
With the recent snowfall, the alpine snow base is back up to 253 cm and the cumulative snowfall, as of 7 am today, is 699 cm.
Since it’s currently snowing lightly on the mountain, there’s a chance that Big White will have surpassed the 700 cm mark by the time you read this.
Along with light snow, Big White is reporting strong winds and limited visibility this morning.
All 16 lifts will be spinning today and all but one of the mountain’s 119 runs are open for business.
