{"result":"update_story","description":"<p> <\/p> <p><meta charset=\"utf-8\" \/><\/p> <p dir=\"ltr\">Police in British Columbia have asked members of the public to come forward after a teacher was charged with sexually exploiting students.<\/p> <p dir=\"ltr\">Marnie Burnham, 36, also known as Marnie Forin, was arrested on February 15, 2024.<\/p> <p dir=\"ltr\">Saanich Police Department said the Greater Victoria School District teacher has since been charged with three counts of sexual exploitation and two counts of luring a child aged under 18. <\/p>\n\t\t<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1515615292703-0\" class=\"dfp-ad dfp-in-content\" style=\"margin-bottom:15px;\">\n\t\t<script>\n\t\t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(\"div-gpt-ad-1515615292703-0\"); });\n\t\t<\/script>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t <p dir=\"ltr\">Police said one victim was initially identified but more have since come forward.<\/p> <p dir=\"ltr\">Officers said anyone under 18 that had contact &ldquo;of a sexual nature&rdquo; with Burnham should email <a href=\"mailto:specialinvestigations@SaanichPolice.ca\">specialinvestigations@SaanichPolice.ca<\/a>.<\/p> <p dir=\"ltr\">Burnham is now awaiting trial, but has been released on bail. <\/p> <p dir=\"ltr\">Her conditions include staying away from her alleged victims, school property and anyone aged under 18.<\/p> <p dir=\"ltr\">&ldquo;We want to thank those who have come forward for their bravery,&rdquo; police said. <\/p> <p dir=\"ltr\">&ldquo;Our investigators believe there may be more who have yet to do so.&rdquo;<\/p> <p dir=\"ltr\">In its bulletin, the department added: &ldquo;To those who have been affected by the alleged actions of Marnie Burnham\/Forin, there are supportive resources available which include the Greater Victoria Police Victim Services and the Men&rsquo;s Therapy Centre.&rdquo;<\/p>","title":"Female BC teacher, 36, bailed after being charged with sexually exploiting teen students"}
