Ex-White House press secretary recounts events of 9/11

On this day 18 years ago, the entire world changed.

On Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, four coordinated terrorist attacks by the terrorist group al-Qaeda killed 2,996 people and injured more than 6,000 others.

The attacks were carried out using four commercial airliners that were hijacked by 19 terrorists.

Two of them crashed into the south and north towers of the World Trade Center, while one crashed into the Pentagon.

The fourth plane initially steered towards Washington, D.C., but crashed into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania after its passengers tried to overcome the hijackers.

Every year on Sept. 11, a large portion of the world stops to remember the horrific events of that day in 2001.

On Monday, a member of George W. Bush’s team, who was in the middle of all the commotion that day, shared his account of what happened and how the president responded to the attacks.

Ex-White House press secretary, Ari Fleischer, starts from when Bush woke up and takes you through the entire day, sparing little to no details.

Fleischer also suggests reading a "suberp recap" of the day's events that was published by Politico.
