Mark your calendar for June 25th, the coolest festival in British Columbia is back and filled with a stunning lineup of local talent - and you have the chance to win one of two pairs of tickets to see the show!
This year's Gonzo Fest lineup is exclusively BC-based, something that hasn’t been done before in Kelowna.
Opening up the festival are local artists Scotty Berg, Songs Of The Southern Belles, Dirt Road Opera, Roger Gabriel and Cod Gone Wild. Next will be the golf tournament awards and then the headlining performers.
Opening headliner Raquel Cole was born in Vernon and is currently recording in Nashville. She’s making her way back to the beautiful Okanagan to play at Gonzo Fest on the 25th to help support local musicians and hopes to see fans and locals come together to support the cause.
Chris Buck will follow Cole on the lineup. Buck lives in Kelowna and has garnered multiple top-50 hits on the Canadian Hot 100 chart. He recently received the BC Country Music International Achievement Award for his continued international success. Buck will be joining Cole in supporting local musicians and music programs next week at Gonzo Fest.
Juno-winning headliners Washboard Union will be taking the stage at 9:00 pm. Two of the three band-mates, Aaron Grain and Chris Duncombe met in the city we call home - Kelowna. The group formed in Vancouver after meeting their third member, David Roberts, and now they’re coming back to their old stomping grounds to support Gonzo Okanagan’s mission to fund youth music programs.
Gonzo Okanagan is focused on supporting local musicians, and that’s why festival organizer Brad Krauza chose to have a lineup of artists who were born and raised in our wonderful province.
The organization is also focused on supporting local businesses, local venues and local music programs.
This year, Gonzo Fundraising Association has funded 4 families who struggled financially through COVID to keep their children in music programs, paying for a year of weekly lessons for each of them. They are also partnered with MusiCounts, Canada's music education charity associated with The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and The JUNO Awards.
MusiCounts makes music education inclusive, sustainable, and accessible for youth across Canada by providing musical instruments, equipment, and resources for those who may not have been able to afford them otherwise.
