The Rock Garden in Vernon provides a ton of programs and drop-in options for children and the whole family.
The beginner program is for ages 6 -12 and teaches new climbers basic skills while having fun. It’s recommended for kids aged 8 and up to have a solid foundation of the sport when joining the intermediate class where they begin to build their skills and progress further. Serious and passionate young climbers can join the advanced class to further hone their skills.

Offering tons of kid-friendly classes, the Vernon Community Arts Centre teaches private and group lessons for all ages so they can build their music and art skills.
Children aged 5 - 14 can start keyboard music lessons for 10 weeks to learn how to read music, play notes and chords as well as the basics of music. For kids more interested in guitar lessons, they can take part in a 4-week course to learn how to play their favourite songs, strum chords and read music.
If your child is more interested in art, they can participate in painting, watercolour or an animal drawing class to build their artistic skills, learn proper technique, colour theory and have fun while they’re at it!
