Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is headed to the Caribbean for a vacation after Christmas.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) says Trudeau will be travelling with his family to Jamaica on Dec. 26 and they will return on Jan. 4.
Last year, the family also vacationed in Jamaica after Christmas.
According to the PMO, he will be travelling with his immediate family, including his two children and his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, although they announced their separation earlier this year.
“The Prime Minister will remain in constant contact with Ottawa during his stay and continue to be briefed and updated on current issues,” the PMO says in an emailed statement.
The PMO also says it has consulted with the federal ethics commissioner in advance of the trip to make sure it follows guidelines and that the family will be paying for their stay.
