Nearly 1.4M toaster ovens recalled in Canada, US due to burn hazards

Nearly 1.4 million toaster ovens have been recalled due to burn hazards.

Health Canada is recalling four models of Oster French Door Toaster Countertop Ovens because the doors can unexpectedly close, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

No injury reports have been received in Canada but 95 burn reports and two reports of a second-degree burn have been reported in the US.

The recalled ovens have one of the following model numbers TSSTTVFDXL, TSSTTVFDDGDS, TSSTTVFDXLPP-033 and TSSTTVFDDAF-033.

According to Health Canada, 104,195 ovens were sold in Canada and 1,290,000 were sold in the US.

The products were sold between January 2015 and July 2025.

Anyone who purchased the affected models should stop using them immediately and contact Sunbeam Products Inc. to arrange to obtain a free repair kit, including installation instructions.
