Multiple brands of vitamins recalled due to metal fragments

Health Canada has issued a recall for several brands of vitamins that may contain fragments of metal wire.

According to the notice, certain lots of L’il Critters Gummy Vites children’s vitamins, Vitafusion Fibre Well, and Vitafusion MultiVites vitamins for adults have recalled due to possible contamination.

The products were manufactured between Oct. 29 and Nov. 3, 2020.

After investigating consumers’ complaints, the company found thin, visible metal fragments about 25 mm long that are believed to be caused by a manufacturing issue.

“Health Canada is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall and the company’s implementation of any necessary corrective and preventative actions,” said the health agency.

The affected vitamins have expiration dates of 02/2022, 04/2022, 05/2022, or 11/2022.

Those who may have purchased the recalled products to stop ingesting the vitamins and contact the company before disposing of the product in order to get a refund.
