Song of the Year was set to be a tough match-up with major contenders all nominated for the coveted title.

  • drivers license: Olivia Rodrigo
  • Fight For You: H.E.R.
  • Happier Than Ever: Billie Eilish
  • Kiss Me More: Doja Cat Featuring SZA

The Recording Academy and CBS released this joining statement following the postponement: “The health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience, and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce our show remains our top priority.”

“Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31st simply contains too many risks. We look forward to celebrating Music’s Biggest Night on a future date, which will be announced soon.”

‘The Daily Show’ host Trevor Noah was set to host the awards show for his second year in a row but there's no word yet on when new dates will be announced.
