Meet Ayush Sharma. Ayush is from New Delhi, India, but has been in Kamloops for six months. He is an adventurous man who loves photography and hanging out at Riverside Park.
Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kamloops?
I am from New Delhi, India and it has been 6 months since I moved here.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
It's just me, myself and I. Haha, I love hanging out with all my friends at TRU.
What is your favourite local store in Kamloops and why?
SportChek most probably, because I love collecting shoes and I read somewhere it said that "The eyes might be the window to the soul, but shoes are the window to just about everything else."
Describe yourself in one word.
Adventurous.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Las Vegas because of Casinos!!
What is your favourite activity in Kamloops?
Photography.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
I was trying to photobomb a stranger and got caught.
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Well, I was at the start of my career (Photography) and got noticed by a very famous photographer on Instagram, he gave me a chance to work with him in his organization as an intern and I was so lucky because I learnt a lot from there.
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
I was the most pampered child and my granny used to buy me everything I demanded.
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I use to work with the Rotaract Club back in India. But, I have also worked at the YMCA, Downtown Kamloops for a while.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
I wish people were more honest and transparent. They should stop pretending what they are not and portraying to be someone else temporarily because it hurts the ones who are close to you or loves you for what you are not. Don't be a two-faced person.
Where would you sneak away to in Kamloops to spend some time alone?
Riverside Park.
Where would you like to see positive change in Kamloops and why?
With the transit or at least bring in UBER! because the wait time is a lot and sometimes the buses do not come or work.
What do you think makes Kamloops great?
The people! Everyone's so amazing especially the elderly people. They are so gentle, warm and welcoming. I love the community and peace. Thank you for making me feel comfortable.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. Tomorrowland.
2. World Tour.
3. Give my parents everything they wish for and make them proud.

Why did you get into/start this business?
December 2013.
What is the goal of your business?
I want to achieve my personal goals i.e. become a famous photographer and I am really passionate about photography so yeah someday...
What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
I started from scratch and didn't have any contacts or anything. And it will be difficult for me to start again in Canada without contacts or anything but I am up for it.
What do you always find yourself saying?
"Your time will come, heaven's got a plan for you."
Tell us your best piece of life advice.
Don't give up on your dreams, I know it is hard sometimes but what's the point of a dream if it comes so easy.
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
My pet Alvin( pug), because he is love. I can even share anything with him as he won't understand and will gently lick me or snore on it. And that's perfect!
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
Because local people give great advice and you can save a lot of money.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
I worked as a photographer with the Government of India.
