1969-12-31 09:00:00 1969-12-31 16:00:00 America/Vancouver Spellcasters with Michael deMeng Legends and lore are filled with tales of wizards, witches, and warlocks, and usually in those tales the various conjurers use some sort of magic device to make weird and wonderful things happen. Well, we all need a little protection now and again; we all have mental monsters to defeat, so it seemed to me that everyone might need a little magic in their life right now. I’m no sorcerer but I know that sometimes items created with love and intent can give a little psychological boost when it is needed the most. So, in this workshop, using objects and symbols important to the participant, attendees are going to create a magical device to help them make those troubles disappear. This will be done incorporating a combination of painting, sculpture, and assemblage. You might opt to create a wand, an amulet, a staff, or perhaps a spellcasting mechanism that is unique to you. Get ready for a little bit of artistic hocus pocus. Fee: $250 per person + $45 supply kit (optional). If you do not purchase the supply kit, you are required to bring your own clay, paint, glue, etc. Download the supply list at: https://www.pentictonartscouncil.com/mdm-magic-wands-workshop Date: August 6th & 7th, 2022 Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Location: PDCAC Community Room at the Leir House Cultural Centre (220 Manor Park Avenue) * Max 10 participants.
