Ahoy there! I’m Captain Jim, but you can call me Jimmy. Batten down the hatches! I’m on the lookout for my furever home!
Just kidding! My name may be Captain Jim, but I don’t actually sound like that! I am a sweet shy pup. I was rescued in the Middle East and am now being fostered in Kelowna in hopes of finding a permanent home.
Life has not been very kind to me, as I was found badly beaten and run over by a car. It took some time, but my rescuer got me the medical attention I needed and now I am fully recovered.
3 ½ -years-old.
Likely a Spitz and German Shepherd mix.
I am a smart dog and I love learning new things. I already enjoy walking on a leash and I know some basic commands. I would do best with some more reward-based training.
I am working very hard to overcome my fears, so I will need a patient human to help me along the way. I am not the bossy type, and I prefer to get along with everyone. I don’t tend to fight or push around other dogs, and I love to be around children and smaller dogs.
Even though I was hurt as a puppy, all I want is someone to love me and be kind to me. Because I was abused, I feel unsafe when I am yelled at or when people are talking loudly, so please keep that in mind.
My perfect home would be with kind and quiet people. Probably a medium activity level home would be about right. I’d do great with another dog and older kids. I’d love a big yard to play in and lots of cuddle time.
I hope the right person will see this and take me home!
My adoption fee is $500, and I am currently being fostered in Kelowna. Please reach out to Loved at Last Dog Rescue if you’re interested in meeting me! Click here to review their adoption guidelines.
