<p><meta charset="utf-8" /></p>

<p dir="ltr">A tornado warning was issued shortly before 8:30 pm.</p>

<p dir="ltr">According to the alert, Environment Canada meteorologists were tracking a severe thunderstorm that held the possibility of producing a tornado.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible,&rdquo; the alert said.</p>

<p dir="ltr">People who received the alert, which was targeted to the east of Prince George, were advised to take cover immediately.</p>

<p dir="ltr">Fortunately, the warning only lasted about 11 minutes and there were no reports of a tornado touching down.</p>

<p dir="ltr">However, several residents in the area managed to capture pictures of the menacing weather that was in the area Tuesday night.</p>

<p>As of Wednesday afternoon, Prince George remains under a severe thunderstorm watch.</p>
